RESPECT

Campers are expected to care for the natural environment and help keep Rucker Lake clean and beautiful.
Treat others with kindness, courtesy, and cooperation at all times—including fellow campers, leaders, and staff.

Personal Conduct & Dress

Choose clothing that is comfortable, practical, and appropriate for outdoor activities.

  • Wear clothing that allows for full participation in hiking, swimming, and group activities

  • Closed-toe shoes are required when walking around camp

  • Use sun protection daily (hat, sunscreen, protective clothing)

We ask campers to:

  • Avoid clothing or behavior that distracts from the group experience

  • Leave makeup and unnecessary personal items at home

  • Use respectful language and behavior at all times

Behavior that is unsafe, dishonest, or harmful to self or others may result in a camper being sent home.

Participation & Safety

Campers are expected to participate in all scheduled activities, including hikes, duties, and group events.

For safety:

  • Stay with your assigned group at all times

  • Use the buddy system when moving around camp

  • Follow directions from leaders and staff

MEDICATIONS

All medications (prescription and over-the-counter) must be checked in with the camp medic upon arrival in their original labeled containers.

  • Medications will be stored and dispensed by the camp medic

  • Campers should not keep medications with them unless approved in advance

PACKING

Packing lists can be found under the WHAT TO PACK menu at the top of this website.

Come prepared for changing weather and outdoor conditions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Phone Policy

Camp is designed to be a space to fully engage with nature, activities, and one another.

  • All phones must be turned in to leaders upon arrival at camp

  • Phones will be securely stored and returned at the end of camp

  • Unauthorized phone use will result in the phone being confiscated

Phones can be a distraction and can limit full participation in camp experiences and relationships. This policy helps create a more connected, present, and inclusive environment for everyone.

Campers are encouraged to bring a camera if they would like to take photos. A limited number of cameras will also be available to borrow for short periods of time.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING

Please do not bring:

  • Electronics (including phones, tablets, gaming devices, music players, etc.)

  • Jewelry or valuables

  • Large amounts of money

  • Makeup
